The Vitric was a 165 foot wooden schooner-barge built in 1917. The ship was carrying a cargo of sugar cane syrup from Havana, Cuba to West Palm Breach, FL in March 1944, when she capsized and sank off Molasses Reef near Key Largo, FL The ship’s remains rest in 300 fsw and include the syrup tanks and steering quadrant that lay on the white sand bottom.
