Joe’s Tug was a harbor tugboat that started its life as an artificial reef by sinking at the pier in Key West, FL. Although planned to be towed for sinking off Miami, FL , the refloated tug was “commandeered” by locals who had plans of their own. Unfortunately, Joe’s Tug sank before it reached it’s new home and now lies on the reef off of Boca Chica Key, FL in 65 fsw of water. Recent hurricanes that have passed through the Keys have severely damaged the wreck.
